I’m in Edinburgh!
What I thought was a 830 flight, was actually a 730am flight- thank goodness I checked! This led to a 430 wake up and me being in Edinburgh at 9am! I’m now chilling in the costa in the airports baggage place since I don’t think anyone else is here yet and I don’t want to lug my bag around! I have my book and one tree hill to keep me company! Travel safe guys and see you soon!
Edinburgh bullet point style…
- I am coming! Yes it is bittersweet that I won’t be running what I had planned to be my first half, but the GNR will be and I need my knee to be fixed and healthy to start training in a few weeks BUT I cannot wait to cheer you guys on! Im so excited for you guys, I cannot imagine how you feel!
- my alarm is set for 5am tomorrow.
- Im bringing suncream
- This morning, I seem to woken up without my voice. I sound like a man or a boy going through puberty. I have had to resort to whispering so I do apologise now for any awkward moments this may cause
- my friend who was going to be running the half (but isn’t due to her impending law exams) is coming up to edinburgh for sunday. She is taking the night bus to ED on sat night, spending sunday with me/us and then taking the night bus back down that evening. what.a.babe.:)
physio said no to the 10k, but that my knee is getting stronger and that I should be able to start running again in a couple of weeks time! wooo! which is perfect timing as my training plan for the great north run on the 25th of june! Im hoping to have had lots of nice runs in by the time that starts!
a post i didn’t really want to have to write
edinburgh half is not happening…this year :(
my right itb is ‘strained’ but that has been causing me to walk slightly weirdly so i have a massive knot in my upper thigh. the physio massaged out the knot (which omg was sosososo painful!) but said that the half would prob be to much to soon. so when i get home I’m gonna sign up for the 10k as he said i could do that :)
this means, that I can hold everyones shotbloks and shit whilst cheering you on while you become marathoners! I can also cook you guys breakfast in the morning too!
11 miles…
turned into 6miles due to knee pain.
I have a physio appt on tuesday but i already know that the half marathon is out of the question. :(
edinburgh will (hopefully) be my first 10k!
Dear my right ITB and knee,
I have “riced” you, massaged you and foam rolled you.
SORT YOURSELF OUT!
love

Im sad/relieved! I knew I had gained from Istanbul (eating to much bread and drinking to much wine) but expected it to be more!
today, shark week has begun so Im hoping that next week I have a good loss!
Next week, Im also going to buy a countdown. Ive been so slack in going to SW the last 6-8 weeks and as a consequence I have barely lost anything. It seems that I need the group time and its encouragement to keep me going during the week.
If there is ever a marathon that I will run, it will be london. 2013 VLM ballot entry submitted! (Ahhhh)
Giraffe breakfast at T5 before spending the next 4 days in Istanbul on a city break! Banana and date smoothie (which is amazing) and the Mexican breakfast ( which is scrummy!)
furthest distance ran..ever!
today, I ran 10k! I have been having serious knee issues (it band/strain) and it wasn’t until i got to 6k that i had any pain!
i am currently debating switching to the 10k in edinburgh but gonna see how the weekly long runs go until may. any advice would be lovely!
Ill write a longer note on this, but i have just discovered the fun of singing along to songs whilst using photo booth and capturing amazing photos of myself!
